These chairs I painted when I first moved in. These were the chairs that I grew up using. there were 7 kids trashing these chairs at one point in the 90's.. Impressive how sturdy these chairs are. I just painted them a chocolate brown. I almost did a Spackle job to the design on front because it is so gaudy, but they turned out so pretty painted.. Paint, what can I say really? Amazing..

I need more details...;-). I have kitchen table chairs that are all sorts of beat up from my 5 lovely kiddos that I don't know what to do with. I don't want to have to sand them then paint, stain or whatever. This is NOT my area of expertise. I would love more info on what paint you used, did you have to sand, etc. Thanks Cheryl!!!
BTW...way to go! I'm super jealous of your talent!
Cheryl!
Good job. I remember when your Mom got those chairs. But more interesting to me is I was just thinking about the couch you had back then. She reupholstered it herself, did you know that? I was really impressed. Does someone in your family still have it? I am curious. Hugs TA
Thanks for the comments! I did sand these. They were so old and most of the finish were gone anyway so it wasn't much more work, but I just did my cabinets.
Use a semigloss paint or eggshell with a separate gloss over top. If you want to save more money, and steps, just use the glossiest paint that you can buy. All furniture should be glossy paint because it is just more durable.
I have done a ton of painting and will put more tips and advice to come. If you have anymore questions to then I am happy to answer them!
I really do love how those turned out! I never would have guessed they could look so modern and attractive! :)
